Sir William Stanley Baker (born 28 February 1928 in Ferndale, died 28 Juny 1976 - British actor and film producer. The most famous role created in the film The Guns of Navarone, where he played a private Brown. Other film roles Zulu, Accident, Hell Drivers. In 1976 he was knighted. He was awarded the freedom of Ferndale, and in a ceremony which he attended in 1970, the local council placed a plaque on the house where he was born.
