born Bernard Zanville, an American film actor who was known for playing, as he labeled himself, "Joe Average". Exhibitors voted Clark the 16th most popular star at the US box office in 1945 and during the 1950s, he became one of a small group of actors (excluding the original ’founding’ members brought in at the Studio’s inception) awarded life membership in The Actors Studio. He appeared on television in the late 1940s, and after the mid-1950s worked much more in that medium than in feature films. He was a regular in World War II movies. Known For Bold Venture Bold Venture (1959), Moonrise (1948), Destination: Tokio (1943), Pride of the Marines (1945), A Stolen Life (1946). When he wasn’t acting or bowling, Clark loved to cook and was well known for his version of chicken cacciatore. Was close friends with Glenn Ford and Dick Powell. He was an avid bowler who was known to never miss a
strike. He was so successful at this sport that in his home he used two spare rooms to hold his large trophy collection.
