Josephine Edwina Jacques - born 7 February 1922 in Sandgate, died 6 October 1980 - British actress and comedienne characteristic remembered today primarily for its performances in films in the series Carry on... Her father was a pilot of the Royal Air Force. He died in a plane crash military when Hattie was 18 months. During World War II, served as a nurse in a field hospital. Known for Sykes, Our House.
