One of two long-running Polish soap operas - continuously broadcasted since 1960, it took audience to small village somewhere in Poland.

In September 1939 Germans invade Poland, but just two weeks later Soviet army attack Poland from the east and Polish civilians and soldiers are trapped between two empires. The fate of Polish officers is sealed once they are arrested by NKVD.

Teenagers from Gray Ranks prepare action that would free their friend Rudy from Gestapo, but their superiors in resistance are against the action since it would put a lot of civilians in danger.
