It is the only Roman Polanski film made in Poland. There is virtually no plot, it is the drama between three people. In 1960s Poland the film was considered original, but cosmopolitan and showing the consumer lifestyle, which did not fit the socialist system. The film received several awards, was nominated for an Oscar. Very well made film, full of witty dialogue, which depth could not not be fully appreciate on first glance. A lot of important props, even the most famous - knife. Also great music.
